The alumni in Singapore were invited to attend the “Virtually Versailles” experience, a joint project between the Palace of Versailles and ESSEC Business School to promote the French culture, heritage and expertise to audiences around the world.
Singapore with its global reputation as a vibrant, cosmopolitan and technologically advanced country made it an ideal choice for this exhibition. As part of the France-Singapore Year of Innovation programme, which aims to highlight and enhance scientific and research partnerships between the two nations, this virtual exploration embodied this goal through the use of digital technology to view the masterpieces on display. Participants would be able to be immersed in the splendours of the Estate of Versailles and the showcase of its rich history through the innovative and interactive tools specially developed for this exhibition.
An exclusive invitation was extended to our ESSEC Alumni to attend this exhibition on Monday 10th December, with the ESSEC Directoire as well as the President & Dean of ESSEC Business School Professor Vincenzo Esposito Vinzi as guests-of-honor. More than 20 alumni working professionals turned up for the event.
That evening, Vincenzo Esposito Vinzi shared how the exhibition is part of the 2018 France-Singapore Year of Innovation and ESSEC’s Centre of Excellence. He was also grateful for the alumni’s contribution to having ESSEC coming in 8th on Financial Times Top European Business School Ranking 2018. The President of ESSEC Alumni Singapore, Bruno Schricke (E77), also spoke on the need for a more cohesive alumni community and its benefits to the School and fellow alumni. This was followed by a networking session, which was complemented with a tantalizing array of canapés and light refreshments to end the event on a high note.
